Sailing with Gwennili Trust

Our Sailing Programme runs from April to October every year and we offer day-sailing trips, cruises, racing, and training courses. To book a trip please visit the Book a Sailing Trip page.

Solent Day Sails

Day sails are short duration sailing trips from 10am to 4pm. We use a specially designed catamaran called Spirit of Scott Bader (specifically designed for wheelchair users) which is berthed at Port Solent Marina, junction 12 of the M27 - PO6 4TJ.

If you book a berth on one of our trips full joining instructions with exact details will be sent so you can prepare for your sailing trip.

To get the most enjoyment from cruises participants need to be able to move around the boat safely and unaided. Itineraries vary according to weather conditions, as well as the desire, and ability of the crew.

South Coast and Scotland Cruises

We charter conventional yachts for cruises of various durations around the Solent, the South Coast, and Scotland. All trips are skippered by an experienced RYA qualified skipper and mate.

Blind Week

For the visually impaired, we participate in the Blind Week cruise.

Mediterranean Cruise

Every year we organise a cruise in the Mediterranean, this is usually in the Ionian sea, near Greece.

Read accounts of previous adventures on our Cruise Reports page.

We enter a number of Solent based races including:

We are also open to entering other races on a request basis.

Training Courses
We run practical training courses for the following certificates:

  • Competent Crew
  • Day Skipper
  • Coastal Skipper
  • Yachtmaster

Our courses conform to the syllabus of the RYA and lead to the issue of the appropriate RYA certificates.
